I advise anyone to stay clear of NHC. The Gallatin community is still new and is beautiful, but the treatment of residents and employees is inexcusable. It's hard to find a good place for our elderly friends and family to live and/or rehabilitate, but with NHC, it starts with management. I have known people who have had to receive care from NHC and some who have worked there, and it's all the same: The managers have been there for 15+ years, creates personal relationships with the staff/other managers that have been there awhile, and will not hold those people accountable. They make exceptions for themselves and expect newer staff to do the bulk of the work and follow expecations that are not expected of long-standing staff. This leaves any new staff coming in with no opportunity to make a good impact and pushes them back away. If corporate reads this, I hope they highly consider getting rid of some of their management and focus on hiring people in their place who actually care. It's a joke the amount of favoritism and how easy that favoritism is more important than the well being of the residents. It's sad because there's not a lot of good rehabilitation in the area, so I feel it's so important for NHC to succede. Unfortunately, they will not unless they take care of the people they have in place now. I have worked in assisted living since I was 17 - almost 8 years. I just want some good options for our elderly community, and as is, NHC is not a good option!
