A social media giant is turning to Nashville's solar-power star to feed its need for renewable energy for its data centers. Silicon Ranch Corp. is building four more solar-power operations in Tennessee as part of a newly announced agreement with Meta Platforms Inc., formerly known as Facebook (Nasdaq: META). The arrays of solar panels will be operational in 2024 and help power Meta data centers in Tennessee and Alabama, according to a press release. Meta is investing roughly $1 billion to build multiple data centers in Gallatin, which Silicon Ranch is powering, along with some in Georgia too.
